Once I am near the top of the Waitlist and am contacted, what happens?

6/24/2011

Once you are near the top of the waitlist and we contact you, we begin your full Application. We begin with a phone interview, and based on the information we collect, our office prepares a checklist of documents that you will need to collect in order for your application to proceed.

We will email or mail this checklist to you, and generally you will have two weeks to assemble the documents required. When your checklist is complete, you will call the staff member that sent you the checklist, and set up an appointment to come into the office. At this appointment, you will present your documents, sign the required HUD documents, and will sign any verifications that are necessary for your certification.

The required verifications you sign will be sent out the same day as your appointment. These verifications must all be returned by the third parties (financial institutions, doctors, landlords, etc.) for your certification to be completed. We will also run a full background check including a national register of sex offenders, and will check HUD's systems to see if you are already collecting any HUD subsidies.

Once all the required information is assembled, we will complete your certification, calculate your rent, and match you with the next available apartment. We will then contact you, and schedule a date and time for you to sign your lease. If applicable, you will need to provide your current landlord with a 30-day notice the day we contact you with your completed certification.

How can I update my contact information while I am on the Waitlist?

6/24/2011

There are two options to update your contact information:

1. Complete the online form here.

2. Send us a letter with your name and the new contact information to:

    Centennial Village Corporation
   Attn: Applications
   130 West Brown Road
   Mesa, Arizona 85201-3445

We do not accept contact information updates by phone or in person. We deal with a large volume of paperwork each and every day, and we ensure that everything gets processed promptly by utilizing the above methods only.

How will I know when I have reached the top of the Waitlist?

6/24/2011

Before you reach the top of the waitlist, you will be contacted by our staff to see if you are still interested in beginning the full Application for housing at Centennial Village. We understand that a lot can change in the 16-20 months that may pass from the time you applied to our waitlist, and we generally start with a phone call. If we do not reach you by phone, we will send you a notice via mail, and email if you have provided us an address, asking you to contact our office if you are still interested. Since we need to contact you when you are close to the top of our waitlist, it is imperative that you keep your contact information current. It is your responsibility to let us know if your phone or address change while you are on our waitlist.
